Three ways to wear corduroy
Day Time Cool
Okay, let’s talk corduroy – it’s happening. It’s shaking off the shackles of dodgy ’70s suits and is reborn. From Stella McCartney and Ganni to high street greats, there’s cool trouser suits, boxy blazers and big voluminous trousers and I am game to get some in my wardrobe ASAP. These are the three ways I’ll be wearing it…
Ever since my days working as a shop assistant at Joseph in the summer holidays (also known as the coolest job EVER. I was 19. It was Bond Street.) I have been a sucker for a trouser suit. Don’t think Canary Wharf shockers, the trousers suits I am loving are double breasted and come with an ankle grazing trouser. I love this navy number paired with some Converse and a white t-shirt to dress it down.

To avoid the geography teacher vibe you need to add some accessories to corduroy especially when venturing out in the evening. Modernise it with a black slip and chuck on some big gold hoops and some chunky trainers. Release your old ’90s self.
There’s no way around it, Autumn is coming. Not cold enough for your full on boots and a coat but no longer warm enough to not waft about a market in a summer dress. It’s trans-seasonal time.
Get these high waisted trousers from & other Stories on. I’ve tried them and they are a great fit and perfect length to wear with flat shoes. I am wearing them with Birkenstocks lined in lambswool. Yes, you heard it right. Basically an excuse to wear your slippers outside.
