Mother's Day Gift Guide - Embrace your inner Lady of the Manor

This year I’ve decided to allocate a theme to my Mother’s Day gift guide. As some of you will be aware, there is a large part of me that is secretly really rather into a bit of full on English country house chintz. I must say I find it all very comforting, especially in these somewhat uncertain times. So, I’ve done you a little round up ranging from an arguably thrifty tin of loose tea (!) to an unquestionably expensive (but non the less exquisite) floral eiderdown.

Let’s face it, you can’t beat eating breakfast from a tray in bed wearing a Victorian blouse and stinking of lavender.

Above – Fortnum & Mason Moroccan Mint Loose Leaf Tea, £9.95

Gien Les Oiseaux Serving Tray, £89.95

Ever since I spotted their paper napkins ‘Gien’ has been a brand on my watch list. This tray has all the right vintage vibes without being over the top.

Bungalow Peacock Napkins, Set of 4, £29.95

Mustard yellow and pale grey with a dusty pink border. Say no more.

Sarah Raven Decorative Tin Plates, £7.95 each

Picnics this summer won’t get chicer than with these Chatsworth plates.

Preen by Thorton Bregazzi Floral Print Satin Eiderdown, £595

You obviously need an eiderdown if you’re going to take this country house game seriously. This one with it’s coffee underside is surely the prettiest of them all.

Mango Decorative Embroidery Blouse, £49.99

You can never have enough Victorian inspired blouses. Fact.

Penhaligon’s Lavandula Bath Oil, £45

Take a long soak in the bath and read a cherished novel for some serious relaxation – you can’t go wrong with lavender oil.

‘Nancy Lancaster – English Country House Style’, £19.99

Or you could risk getting this soaked and take it into the bathroom instead. This has a permanent place on my coffee table at home.

Liberty London Cotton Square Photo Album, £60

You’ll get top wellness marks for spending an evening sticking actual printed photographs into an actual real life photo album.

Flowerbx Lily of the Valley Bouquet, from £40

Flowerbx sources flowers directly from their growers and sends them straight to your door. Flowers don’t get much better than a simple bouquet of Lily of the Valley.
