Luxe Leather

There comes a time in a person’s life when they must endure the dodgy leather suite situation; the monstrous pieces of furniture, far too big for a room that the landlord insists on keeping in your rented flat.

It brings me out in a cold sweat just thinking about lounges all over the country stuffed with them (though please, don’t do any sweating in their vicinity unless you want to do that awkward shuffle-peel move).

So I am as surprised as you are to find myself drawn to leather in the living room. However, make no mistake, 2019’s leather is less student digs, more buttery soft, pale chairs and sofas or the more serious mid century daybed in the inspiration image below that I’d like to have a good lie down on. What’s happening in the room is also translating into the wardrobe – I am drawn to this seasons luxe leather pieces that elevate the most normal daytime getup. Invest and you can have them for ever. I am currently cracking out a tan leather midi skirt I had in my early 20’s. I think that makes it vintage?! I’ve also ordered the leather mittens for the winter and cannot wait for them to arrive… winter, though, I am less excited to embrace.

If you’re interested in introducing leather into your home or about your person, I’ve pulled out my favourite leather inspo, choice finds and some accessories to get you started.
