Lockdown Style - Slides, satin and a big slouchy jumper
A new term of virtual learning starts on Monday and after a week off after the Excited for Easter frenzy my thoughts have turned to what I will be wearing to WFH. If I’m being completely up front with you all, materialistic and vapid as the thought is, I just really fancy buying something new.
Hold fire from tweeting Greta and as Clemmie (aged 6) would say “don’t be cross to me” – I know it’s not in the slightest bit a priority. I’m just being honest about my desire for a little bit of retail therapy as I prepare to walk the tightrope of keeping my freelance career afloat whilst homeschooling a 6, 10 and 13 year old.
If you’re going to be getting on the tightrope with me, I’ve got an outfit for you all and it starts with some sturdy footwear – chunky slides or a pair of Birkenstocks. With socks, without socks, doesn’t matter but I’m living in mine right now. Next chuck on a silk slip dress (nightie) or satin midi skirt (elasticated waist say no more) and finish off the look with an oversized knitted jumper or cardigan. If you’re really wanting to get dressed up for your Zoom call why not add a pair of chunky hoop earrings.
Clearly I’m not reinventing the fashion wheel here, it’s a classic look that just feels right for now. Below are a selection of my favourites that may or may not be in my virtual shopping basket.
