After a dinner at the Oka store, these are the pieces I wanted to take home with me
I see you twenty-something year old with your terribly exciting pub lock-in on a weeknight but I raise you the lock-in of all lock-ins – one where you eat supper in a shop. I mean, that’s the kinda thing that floats my boat these days. Give me three courses and some interior goodness to ogle.
Last week, Oka invited the design crowd into their shop to take a look at a new collaboration they’d been working on with architect-slash-designer Ron Arad. A brilliantly witty idea that you can see more about here. As drinks were served I took the opportunity to have a good old nosey around and see what Oka’s up to.
And what I found are some gems that need to be shared.
I went back to look at this lamp twice during the evening. Slim, elegant and most importantly, black. Perfection.
It’s not often I see a non-vintage wardrobe that makes me consider actually buying it but this Nordic style one really got my attention.
As you know I do love an object. These fall into my ‘something a bit off’ category to stop a room looking too predictable.
A pouffy velvet sofa in a fabulous colour, it’s modular so can be extended into an L shape. I’m rather fond of the smaller version. It would look great in a hallway (assuming yours is big enough!)
Pop these either side of your bed to step out onto of a morning and I can guarantee a blissful start to each day.
Every house needs AT LEAST a few velvet cushions and this one comes in a handy 27 different colour ways.
These super pretty and elegant water glasses are a great price. They are also available in a taller version.
These were part of the place setting for our dinner. I gave them a thorough inspection and concluded that they were a very generous size and beautiful to touch.
